Los chavales de Galapagar y Keko, de "El Madroño" y "Puerta Bonita", en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
La Federación de Estudiantes Libertarios organiza durante los días 5, 6, 10 y 11 de Mayo las Jornadas acerca Cárcel, Centros de Internamiento de Extranjeros y Centros de Menores. El primer día, Miércoles 5 de Mayo tendremos la oportunidad de escuchar, compartir y debatir en primera persona la experiencia de Christian, Álvaro y Juan Carlos, tres de los chicos que han denunciado malos tratos en el centro "Hogar Galapagar", y de Keko, que estuvo encerrada en los centros "El Madroño" y "Puerta Bonita". Les acompañará Santiago, psicólogo y uno de los trabajadores que destapó la situación en los centros de menores del entramado O´Belén.
Los chavales de Galapagar hablarán sobre su paso por un centro de "protección" terapéutico para menores tutelados por la Comunidad de Madrid. Tras salir en libertad, Christian. Álvaro y Juan Carlos junto con otro compañero denunciaron los malos tratos que sufrieron en dicho centro. En la actualidad hay abierto un proceso judicial en el que están imputandos Ignacio Jiménez San Segundo (dueño de la empresa que gestiona el centro) y Elena Domingo Moneo (directora del centro). El suyo podría ser el primer caso en el que dos de los responsables del negocio de los centros de menores sufran consecuencias por los malos tratos y violaciones de los derechos humanos que se producen en el interior de los mismos. Keko pasó más de un año encerrada en los centros "El Madroño" y "Puerta Bonita" a causa de una condena judicial. Una vez en libertad, ha contado en varias ocasiones las condiciones en que se encierra a los chavales condenados por los juzgados de menores y la terrible situación en la que se encuentran aquellos chicos y chicas que, además de estar encerrados, no tienen a nadie para luchar o estar pendiente de sus derechos. Santiago trabajó en el centro de menores "La Jarosa", gestionado por el entramado O´Belén. Durante los tres días en los que permaneció en el centro fue testigo de todo tipo de vejaciones, humillaciones e incluso agresiones a los menores. Pidió la baja voluntaria en la empresa y puso la situación en conocimiento del Defensor del Pueblo (dada la nula disposición de la Fiscalía de Menores a intervenir). Su caso junto con el de otro grupo de trabajadores de O´Belén en Guadalajara derivó en la investigación Defensor del Pueblo sobre centros de menores terapéuticos. Siete días después de visita de los inspectores del Defensor del Pueblo a "La Jarosa", el centro fue cerrado fulminantemente. Los responsables de O´Belén continúan en libertad sin cargos.
