S.G, una niña de 14 años tutelada por la Comunidad de Castilla la Mancha que se encontraba recluida en un centro de protección de la fundación O´Belén murió el pasado domingo tras tirarse de la furgoneta que la llevaba de vuelta al centro “Casa Joven” en Azuqueca de Henares.
No es la única muerte que arrastra consigo esta fundación. El 2 de diciembre de 2008 un niño moría también en las dependencias del centro “Picón”-Paracuellos del Jarama- cuando se encontraba en aislamiento. Poco después, otro chaval lo intentaba.
S.G moría a última hora de la tarde en el hospital del Niño Jesús de Madrid.
El informe de 500 páginas que lanzaba el Defensor del pueblo remitido en el Congreso de los diputados en febrero de este mismo año denunciaba precisamente las múltiples deficiencias de estos centros. La Fundación O´Belén que lleva tras de sí el cierre de algunos centros –“La Jarosa Tetuán”- fue una de tantas señaladas. En concreto, sobre el centro al que se dirigía S.G, en Azuqueca de Henares, apuntaba que "se abusa cotidianamente de la contención física poniendo en riesgo al menor". Se destapaba así la continua vulneración de los derechos de los menores.
Como podemos ver, el caso de S.G no es un caso aislado sino algo que se repite constantemente en estos lugares donde se priva de libertad a chavales que normalmente cumplen un mismo patrón de pobreza, desestructuración familiar, falta de oportunidades y desamparo. No olvidemos que estas fundaciones reciben subvenciones de las comunidades autónomas que a veces superan los 250 € diarios por menor así como la financiación por parte de las empresas beneficiarias y patrocinadoras.
Además en estos centros han sido constatadas prácticas como el aislamiento continuado – algo que precisamente está prohibido por las Naciones Unidas desde 1990-, las agresiones físicas y psicológicas denunciadas por los chavales, la continua violación del derecho a la intimidad, la privación de libertad sin orden judicial, así como la medicación forzosa y en múltiples ocasiones sin supervisión facultativa.
Nos concentramos ante el IMMF (Instituto Madrileño del Menor y la Familia) debido a que mantiene en la Comunidad de Madrid un centro de esta fundación abierto, “Picón del Jarama”, en el que pesan varias denuncias y del cual dicen tener abierta una investigación sobre la que no hay resultados.
La finalidad de la concentración es la denuncia pública de un maltrato que pasa inadvertido ante la sociedad. Esto no es una reunión de políticos. No vengas a hacer proselitismo ni a hacer tuyo el asunto. Ha muerto una niña.
