Javier San Sebastián retrató a O´Belén en la UCM. Escúchale a él directamente

El pasado 15 de Abril Javier San Sebastián, cabeza visible del entramado O´Belén, dió una conferencia en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Por gentileza de un grupo de funcionarios solidarios del IMMF, hemos tenido acceso a la grabación del acto, cuyo contenido pensamos que debe difundirse al máximo. Con esta grabación podemos poner sobre la mesa quién está dirigiendo (y lucrándose de) la red formada alrededor de O´Belén, así como la ideología de quien encierra y psiquiatriza con el dinero de todos los madrileños a varias decenas de chavales tutelados en Picón de Jarama.

Son especialmente preocupantes dos hechos:

Que el propio San Sebastián reconoce que O´Belén funciona al margen de la legalidad, dejando patente que Picón de Jarama es una especie de “clínica psiquiátrica” encubierta, cuando sobre el papel se trata de una residencia abierta para menores tutelados, sin ninguna vinculación (ni control) con el sistema público de salud mental.

Que el presidente de una entidad financiada con dinero público cargue contra Amnistía Internacional (que ha denunciado los malos tratos cometidos en Picón del Jarama) afirmando textualmente que “es un organismo tan desacreditado que no merece la pena ni considerar sus informes”. Nos preguntamos qué otras campañas de Amnistía Internacional le parecen “desacreditadas” y qué otras violaciones de los derechos humanos denunciadas por esta organización, colaboradora de la ONU, le parecen a San Sebastián justificadas.

A lo largo de la grabación San Sebastián miente descaradamente cuando niega que los trabajadores que han aparecido en varios medios de comunicación hayan pasado por sus centros; la documentación que lo confirma es pública*, y en todo caso O´Belén no ha interpuesto ni una sola denuncia por calumnias contra los trabajadores en todo este tiempo. Si San Sebastián es capaz de faltar a la verdad de forma tan fácilmente contrastable, poca credibilidad puede darse al resto de sus palabras, pero en cualquier caso es importante (porque la vida y la dignidad de los menores tutelados va en ello) analizar algunos de sus postulados:

San Sebastián cierra su conferencia “invitando” a quienes denunciamos el negocio y el maltrato a que convivamos “una semana” con cualquiera de los chavales encerrados en sus centros. Esto resulta un insulto para muchísimas personas anónimas que han acogido (sin recibir los 5.200 euros mensuales** que se embolsa él) a chavales con dificultades de todo tipo, algunos incluso fugados o desinternados precipitadamente de Picón de Jarama o de otros centros de O´Belén. Personas que integran la Coordinadora de Barrios de Madrid, como el psicólogo y pedagogo Enrique Martínez Reguera o los integrantes del colectivo CANIJIN han demostrado con su experiencia que hasta los chavales supuestamente más agresivos o con problemas graves de salud mental son capaces de salir adelante en un entorno familiar, sin rejas, celdas de aislamiento, guardias de seguridad y hacinamiento. Efectivamente, no es fácil sacar adelante a estos chavales, pero es muy difícil hacerlo peor que en Picón de Jarama.

Se afirma que un 20% de los menores (¡de la población general!) tiene trastornos psiquiátricos. San Sebastián parece no querer encerrar sólo a los menores tutelados, sino que pretende psiquiatrizar a casi una cuarta parte de la población infantil y adolscente (imaginamos que según su criterio algunos "solo" necesitarán medicación, y no reclusión).

Critica las inspecciones del Defensor del Pueblo por escuchar las denuncias de los menores y alaba las “inspecciones” del Defensor del Menor de la Comunidad de Madrid, institución vinculada directamente al PP. Su anterior responsable, Pedro Núñez Morgades, forma parte del patronato de O´Belén y el anterior, Javier Urra se ha declarado públicamente “amigo” de San Sebastián. Las “inspecciones” del Defensor del Menor de la C.A.M. son avisadas de su fecha y hora con antelación, y se niega a atender las quejas de los menores, convierténdose en un mero trámite de "lavado de cara".

Reconoce implícitamente que hay agresiones en sus centros cuando afirma que "las nuestras salen en los telediarios y las de los centros públicos no".

Reconoce que el aislamiento se aplica como castigo, cuando hasta el momento se afirmaba que se utilizaba “de forma terapéutica”. En cualquier caso, el aislamiento a menores está terminantemente prohibido por las Naciones Unidas en su resolución 45/113 (http://www2.ohchr.org/spanish/law/menores.htm )

Además, niega la medicación forzosa, justifica la violación del derecho a la intimidad y reconoce la psiquiatrización en un mismo centro de chavales con problemáticas incompatibles e incluso de algunos "a quienes que sólo hay que proteger". (¿en ese entorno?).

Como decíamos al principio, te animamos a escuchar tú mismo las palabras de este individuo, tan generosamente financiado por la Comunidad de Madrid con dinero público.
